Editorial note: this is a general guide to Fishing slots at Fortune Games. Slots are games of chance — nothing here is a prediction of results, and no strategy changes the odds.

Fishing Slots

A Fishing slot puts rods, boats and fish on the reels, and most use fish symbols that carry cash values and a fisherman who collects them, usually in free spins. Pragmatic Play and Reel Kingdom make the Big Bass series and Blueprint Gaming makes Fishin’ Frenzy, while Big Time Gaming, Hacksaw Gaming, Gameburger Studios and Aurum Signature Studios have made their own. Our guides to Fishing slots we stock are listed below.

What makes a Fishing slot

Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Bonanza, released in 2020, shows the core loop. Each fisherman wild that lands in its free spins collects the cash on every fish in view, and every fourth one adds 10 spins and a higher multiplier, from 2x to 3x and finally 10x. That formula grew into a whole series, covered on our Big Bass slots page.

Typical symbols include rods, tackle boxes, boats and lifebelts, with card ranks as the lower pays, but the settings range widely. Blueprint Gaming’s Fishin’ Frenzy stays at the seaside with pelicans and gulls, Big Bass Amazon Xtreme heads for the rainforest, Fish Eye is set on ancient Egypt’s Nile, and in Gameburger Studios’ Fishin’ Pots of Gold a leprechaun holds the rod.

Many games add extras: random helpers can bring in a third scatter when only two land, and some bonuses open with modifiers or a pick that changes the round. Big Bass Vegas Double Down Deluxe splits the fisherman into red and blue wilds, each with its own meter, Big Bass Hold & Spinner adds a coin respin round, and Crabbin’ for Christmas has a respin round with four fixed jackpots.

How Fishing slots differ

Five reels, three rows and 10 lines is the usual layout, but not the only one. Bigger Bass Bonanza adds a fourth row for 12 fixed lines, and in its base game fish values count only when five fish land on one line. Aurum Signature Studios’ Fishing Fever Bass King uses 40 lines. Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways and Big Time Gaming’s Golden Catch run six reels that each show two to seven symbols, for up to 15,625 and 117,649 ways respectively, while Hacksaw Gaming’s Le Fisherman pays clusters of five or more matching symbols on a 6x5 grid.

The collecting works differently too. In Fishing Fever Bass King, Golden Lures pay when a Collect symbol lands on reel 5, in the base game as well as the free spins. Golden Catch’s collectors are boats anchored above the grid, which gather Fish Bonus Prizes uncovered when winning symbols are cleared. In Le Fisherman, winning positions leave Golden Squares that a Rainbow can activate to reveal coins, clovers and buckets.

Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Catch lets you shape the bonus, offering more free spins with standard fish values or fewer with boosted ones, and its volatility shifts with that choice. Golden Catch and Fishing Fever Bass King are rated high volatility, while Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways sits on the high side of medium.

Where to start

Start with any of these guides, each for a different reason:

  • Big Bass Bonanza: the game that started the Big Bass series, with the collect-and-multiply free spins in their original form.
  • Fishin’ Frenzy: Blueprint Gaming’s ten-line seaside game, with medium volatility and no meters or multipliers in its free spins.
  • Big Bass Splash: random modifiers, such as more fish or two extra spins, can apply before the free spins.
  • Fish Eye: four or more fish can pay in the base game, and in free spins a remover symbol clears the lowest fish value.
  • Fishin’ Pots of Gold: golden pots with fixed jackpot-style prizes appear alongside the fish.

Every game in our list above is in the Fortune Games lobby (18+), from Big Bass Splash and Fishin’ Frenzy to Fish Eye and Fishing Fever Bass King. The line-up can change, so check the lobby for what is available.
