Le Fisherman slot review
Le Fisherman is a Hacksaw Gaming slot released in February 2026, and it sends Smokey, the character from Le Bandit, out on the water. Clusters of five or more matching symbols pay on a 6x5 grid, and every winning position leaves a Golden Square behind for a Rainbow to activate. The maximum payout is 15,000x stake.

How Le Fisherman plays
Payouts come from clusters: five or more identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the 30-position grid. The twist is what a winning cluster leaves behind: each position that was part of a payout turns into a Golden Square, marking the spot for later.
When a Rainbow symbol is on the grid, it activates those squares after the cluster payouts have been collected. Each one reveals a special symbol:
- Coins pay an instant cash prize.
- Green Clovers boost the value of nearby Coins, while Gold Clovers boost every Coin on the grid.
- Buckets collect the Coins and activated Buckets in the 3x3 area around them, and Global Buckets collect from the whole grid.
An Epic Rainbow goes further and reveals special symbols on every position, not only the Golden Squares, using the same activation steps.
The three free spins bonuses
FS scatter symbols lead to one of three bonuses, each starting with 10 free spins. They share the Golden Square system but treat the squares differently:
- On Thin Ice (3 FS scatters): Golden Squares stay highlighted until a Rainbow activates them, and a Big Catch Bar beside the grid makes Rainbows more powerful as it fills.
- Slippery When Wet (4 FS scatters): the Big Catch Bar is in play, and Golden Squares stay highlighted even after they have been activated, so a later Rainbow can use them again.
- Smokey Under Water (5 FS scatters): the top bonus, where the Big Catch Bar sits at its highest level throughout.
The progression is easy to follow: each step up either keeps Golden Squares alive for longer or starts the Big Catch Bar higher, so the five-scatter version gives Rainbows the most to work with from the first spin.
