Fishin' Bonanza slot review
Fishin' Bonanza is a fishing slot from Playtech, released in November 2021. It plays on five reels, three rows and 10 paylines, and its free spins revolve around fisherman wilds that collect the cash values on fish symbols while a five-part meter adds more spins and opens up goldfish jackpot prizes.

How Fishin' Bonanza plays
The game has an underwater setting, and the paytable is a rock-pool roll call. Wins need three or more matching symbols on one of the 10 lines.
- Turtles, octopuses, stingrays and crabs as the higher-value sea creatures
- Fish symbols, some carrying cash values
- Card royals as the lower-value symbols
- Scatters, which start the bonus
The set-up will feel familiar to anyone who has played Fishin' Frenzy. The difference shows once the bonus starts, because Playtech swapped a single run of free spins for a collection system with jackpot prizes at the end of it.
Free spins and the collection meter
Three, four or five scatters anywhere in view award 10, 15 or 20 free spins. In the round, the fisherman becomes a wild that substitutes for the regular symbols, and when he lands alongside fish carrying cash values, he collects all of them at once.
Scatters that land during the free spins go into a meter with five sections. Each section you fill adds more free spins, so a good run of scatters can stretch the round well past its starting count. Filling the whole meter brings the goldfish into play and with them three fixed jackpot prizes: Mini, Minor and Major.
That structure is the game’s angle. Here you watch the meter, because each step lengthens the round and the final step changes what the fish can be worth.
