Lucky 15 Bet Explained
A Lucky 15 is 15 bets on four selections: four singles, six doubles, four trebles and one fourfold accumulator. Because it includes singles, one winner is enough for a return, though often not enough to cover the stake. A £1 Lucky 15 costs £15, and an each-way Lucky 15 costs twice as much.

Every combination of your four selections is covered once. Take out the four singles and you have a Yankee, which is 11 bets and needs at least two winners for any return.
What a Lucky 15 costs
The stake you choose is per bet, so the total is 15 times your unit stake: 50p a bet costs £7.50 and £2 a bet costs £30. An each-way Lucky 15 is two Lucky 15s, one on the win and one on the place, so it is 30 bets, and £1 each-way costs £30. The place half pays at a fraction of the odds, as our each way guide explains.
A worked example
Say you place a £1 Lucky 15 (£15 in total) on four horses at 2/1, 3/1, 4/1 and 5/1.
If only the 2/1 selection wins, its single returns £3, a loss of £12. If the 2/1 and 3/1 selections both win, the two singles return £3 and £4 and the double returns £12: £19 in total, a profit of £4. Each extra winner adds more doubles and trebles, and that is where most of the return comes from.
Lucky 15 extras
Some bookmakers add extras to a Lucky 15, such as higher odds on the single when only one selection wins, or a percentage added when all four win. These offers differ between bookmakers and come with their own terms, so they are not part of the bet itself. Without them, a Lucky 15 settles exactly like the 15 separate bets inside it.
