Lucky 31 Bet Explained
A Lucky 31 is 31 bets on five selections: five singles, 10 doubles, 10 trebles, five fourfolds and one fivefold accumulator. Because it includes singles, one winner gives a return, though usually far less than the stake. A £1 Lucky 31 costs £31, and an each-way Lucky 31 costs £62.

Every combination of your five selections is covered once. Without the singles it is a Super Yankee, also called a Canadian, which is 26 bets. The four-selection version is the Lucky 15.
What a Lucky 31 costs
Your stake is per bet, so the total is 31 times your unit stake: 50p a bet costs £15.50 and £2 a bet costs £62. An each-way Lucky 31 is 62 bets, so £1 each-way costs £62, and the place half pays at a fraction of the odds.
A worked example
Say you place a £1 Lucky 31 (£31 in total) on five selections at 2/1, 3/1, 4/1, 5/1 and 6/1.
If only the 2/1 selection wins, its single returns £3, a loss of £28. If the 2/1 and 3/1 selections win, two singles and one double return £19, still a loss of £12. If the first three win, three singles, three doubles and a treble return £119, a profit of £88. The more winners, the more of the doubles, trebles and bigger bets pay.
Lucky 31 extras
Some bookmakers add extras to a Lucky 31, such as higher odds on the single when only one selection wins, or a bonus when all five win. These offers differ between bookmakers and have their own terms, so they are not part of the bet itself. Without them, a Lucky 31 settles exactly like the 31 separate bets inside it.
