Yankee Bet Explained
A Yankee is 11 bets on four selections: six doubles, four trebles and one fourfold accumulator. It has no singles, so you need at least two winners for any return. A £1 Yankee costs £11, and an each-way Yankee costs twice as much.

Every combination of two, three and four selections is covered once. Add the four singles and the bet becomes a Lucky 15, which pays out on a single winner.
What a Yankee costs
The stake you choose is per bet, so the total is 11 times your unit stake: 50p a bet costs £5.50 and £2 a bet costs £22. An each-way Yankee is two Yankees, one on the win and one on the place, so it is 22 bets, and £1 each-way costs £22. The place half pays at a fraction of the odds, as our each way guide explains.
A worked example
Say you place a £1 Yankee (£11 in total) on four selections at 2/1, 3/1, 4/1 and 5/1.
If only the 2/1 and 3/1 selections win, the one double between them returns £12, a profit of £1. If the first three all win, three doubles and one treble pay out: £107 in total. If all four win, all 11 bets pay out: £821. With one winner or none, nothing comes back.
Bigger versions: Super Yankee and Lucky 31
A Super Yankee, also called a Canadian, applies the same idea to five selections: 10 doubles, 10 trebles, five fourfolds and one fivefold, which is 26 bets. A Lucky 31 adds the five singles. With six selections and no singles, the bet is a Heinz of 57 bets. The more selections, the bigger the total stake, and most of the return still needs several winners.
