How Elite of Evil: Portal of Gold plays

There are no paylines: any group of four or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically wins. Winning symbols explode, new ones drop in, and a win multiplier rises with every cascade. Three special symbols stand out:

  • Shards explode when matched and destroy every symbol touching them.
  • Four or more free spins symbols start the free spins.
  • Four or more bonus chest symbols start a pick bonus.

Cleared symbols also fill five portals. Each opens a realm with a boss whose health falls as you match symbols; every symbol except the bonus and free spins symbols deals damage, and shard explosions add more. The game rules say this progress is saved, but only at the stake you were playing.

Boss fights and the bonus rounds

Beating a boss earns one spin of the five-tier Jackpot Wheel, which offers cash prizes or free spins. The prizes grow with each boss, up to 2,000x stake or 22 free spins for the fifth.

Four, five, six or seven free spins symbols award 12, 14, 18 or 22 free spins, and every win in the round adds one to a multiplier that does not reset until it ends. In the chest round you pick two to five chests, depending on how many chest symbols started it, and win the total of the cash values inside.

The portals set the game apart: progress towards the bosses builds over many spins, which gives the base game a goal beyond the next cascade.
