Video slots

Most modern slots are video slots: usually five reels, a theme and bonus features such as free spins, multipliers and expanding wilds. Big Bass Bonanza, Eye of Horus and Gonzo’s Quest are well-known examples. Themes range from fishing and ancient Egypt to fruit and myths, and the theme has no effect on how a game pays. Features range from simple free spins to bonus games where you pick prizes. Our guide to video slots explains the features you will meet.

Megaways, scatter pays and other mechanics

Megaways slots change the number of symbols on each reel with every spin, so the number of ways to win changes too, often up to 117,649 depending on the game, and many are high volatility, with long gaps between bigger wins. The lobby has around 70, including Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways and Buffalo King Megaways. Scatter-pays slots such as Gates of Olympus skip paylines altogether and pay for enough matching symbols anywhere on screen. Cluster-pays games such as Aloha! Cluster Pays pay for groups of touching symbols, and hold and win games such as Buffalo Hold and Win lock cash symbols in place for a round of respins. Our guide to hold and win slots explains how they work.

Classic and fruit slots

Classic slots keep the look of the traditional fruit machine, with fewer reels and paylines and symbols such as cherries, bars and sevens. Fire Joker and Fruit Shop are examples, and some add modern extras such as respins or multiplier wheels. They are a simple way to learn how paylines and stakes work. See our guide to classic slot machines.

Jackpot slots and Slingo

Jackpot slots add a prize on top of the base game, either fixed or progressive; progressive jackpots grow with every stake until someone wins, and the lobby’s jackpots section lists around 20. Bonus funds cannot be used on progressive jackpot slots. Slingo games, such as Book of Slingo, mix slots with bingo: you spin to mark numbers on a grid and win by completing lines, with a set number of spins and extra spins available to buy at the end.

Next to the slots, the lobby has around 30 instant-win games, including scratchcards, plus casino and table games and bingo. Whatever the type, every game’s help screen shows its rules, features and, for most games, its RTP.
