Editorial note: this is a general guide to Rainbow Riches slots at Fortune Games. Slot rules, features and RTP can vary between operators and game versions, so always check each game's information panel before you spin. Slots are games of chance — nothing here is a prediction of results, and no strategy changes the odds.
Rainbow Riches Slots
A Rainbow Riches slot belongs to the leprechaun family that began at Barcrest, the studio now part of Light & Wonder, and our guides credit the newer releases to Light & Wonder itself. Most of the games keep the Irish symbols and bring back bonuses first seen in the original, such as Road to Riches, Wishing Well and Pots of Gold. Our guides to Rainbow Riches slots we stock are listed below.

What makes a Rainbow Riches slot
Everything traces back to Rainbow Riches, the 2006 Barcrest original. It runs on five reels, three rows and 20 paylines and has no free spins at all. Instead, three bonus symbols each lead to a separate feature: Road to Riches moves you along a trail of rising multipliers, Wishing Well asks you to pick for a stake multiplier, and Pots of Gold whirls gold, silver and bronze pots around the screen, with the gold one paying up to 500x your stake.
Later releases rework that trio rather than retire the leprechaun. Rainbow Riches Free Spins added the free games the first title lacked, and Pick ’n’ Mix (2016) lets you decide which of five bonuses can trigger. Newer Light & Wonder games each rebuild one classic bonus: Road to Even More Riches (August 2025) turns the trail into three wheel-driven roads, and Even More Pots of Gold (late 2025) gives the pots a wheel with a multiplier meter.
How Rainbow Riches slots differ
The grids vary more than the theme suggests. Rainbow Riches Megaways borrows Big Time Gaming’s engine, with six reels of changing heights for up to 117,649 ways and cascading wins in place of the trail and pick rounds. Race Day (February 2021) uses a 6x4 grid with 4,096 ways, while Reels of Gold (May 2016) spins a standard 5x4 set beside a much taller colossal set, with 100 lines between them. Power Mix (December 2021) goes further still, running four separate 5x3 sets of 10 lines each at once.
Bonus design shifts too. Locomotion (April 2024) is driven by Gold Coin cash symbols, and five or more on one spin start a round on Hyper Reels. In Race Day, horse symbols move runners along five tracks above the reels, and the first to finish pays the pot for its lane. Slingo Rainbow Riches leaves reels behind for a 5x5 number grid, placing seven bonus rounds on a ladder that climbs with each Slingo completed.
Our guides describe the 2006 game and Free Spins as medium volatility and the Megaways version as higher. Listed top prizes include 1,037x stake for Locomotion, 2,000x for Rainbow Frenzy, 7,300x for Road to Even More Riches and 12,600x for Even More Pots of Gold. Those figures are ceilings, and a typical session can pay far less.
Where to start
A handful of guides cover the main directions the series has taken.
- Rainbow Riches: the 2006 starting point, with three separate bonus features and no free spins.
- Rainbow Riches Pick ’n’ Mix: you choose one, two or three of five bonuses before play, and only those can trigger.
- Rainbow Riches Free Spins: retriggers can stack the round towards a cap of 999 spins.
- Rainbow Riches Locomotion: a 10-line game where Gold Coins lead into Hyper Reel spins and the free games merge the middle reels into one giant reel.
