What Are the Odds of Winning EuroMillions HotPicks?
The odds of winning EuroMillions HotPicks depend on how many numbers you play: 1 in 10 for Pick 1, 1 in 123 for Pick 2, 1 in 1,960 for Pick 3, 1 in 46,060 for Pick 4 and 1 in 2,118,760 for Pick 5. Each play costs £1.50 and wins only if every number you chose is among the five main EuroMillions numbers drawn.

HotPicks odds and prizes for each Pick
HotPicks has its own rules and price but uses the EuroMillions main numbers, drawn every Tuesday and Friday. You play one to five numbers from 1 to 50. These are the approximate odds in the official game procedures, with each Pick’s fixed prize.
| Game | To win | Odds per play | Prize |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pick 1 | Your 1 number is drawn | 1 in 10 | £10 |
| Pick 2 | Both your numbers are drawn | 1 in 123 | £100 |
| Pick 3 | All 3 of your numbers are drawn | 1 in 1,960 | £1,500 |
| Pick 4 | All 4 of your numbers are drawn | 1 in 46,060 | £30,000 |
| Pick 5 | All 5 of your numbers are drawn | 1 in 2,118,760 | £1,000,000 |
How the odds are worked out
Five main numbers are drawn from 50; HotPicks ignores the two Lucky Stars. Each figure is the number of possible selections divided by the number made up only of drawn numbers.
For Pick 2, there are 1,225 possible pairs from 50 numbers, and 10 of them use two of the five drawn numbers. That gives 1,225 ÷ 10 = 122.5, which the procedures round to 1 in 123. For Pick 5 there are 2,118,760 possible sets of five numbers, and only one matches the draw.
Why each extra number makes winning harder
HotPicks is all or nothing: a Pick 3 play with two of its three numbers drawn wins nothing. Pick 5’s odds, for example, are 46 times longer than Pick 4’s. The prizes rise with the odds, but the price stays at £1.50.
Fixed odds and fixed prizes, with one exception
HotPicks pays set amounts rather than sharing a jackpot, so the odds don’t change with the number of players. The exception: the official procedures allow prizes to be capped if the total due to a Pick’s winners exceeds its prize fund, which is then shared equally among them. A prize is not guaranteed.
