Odds of Winning EuroMillions: The Full Breakdown
EuroMillions is Europe's biggest lottery, with jackpots that can roll up to €250 million. The trade-off for those huge prizes is the longest odds of any UK draw game — the jackpot chance is 1 in 139,838,160. Here's how the odds work across all 13 tiers.
How EuroMillions works
You pick five main numbers from 1–50 and two Lucky Stars from a separate pool of 1–12. Each line costs £2.50, and draws take place every Tuesday and Friday at around 8pm (tickets close at 7:30pm). Every UK line also enters the Millionaire Maker raffle, which guarantees at least one £1 million UK winner per draw.
The odds for every prize tier

The overall chance of winning any prize is roughly 1 in 13.
Why the prize amounts change
Unlike Thunderball or Set for Life, EuroMillions prizes are not fixed. It uses a pari-mutuel system: a set share of the prize fund is split between the winners in each tier, so the more winners there are, the smaller each payout. That's why the same match can be worth different amounts in different draws. The one exception is the UK Millionaire Maker, which always pays a fixed £1 million.
The jackpot cap
The jackpot starts at €17 million and rolls over until it hits the €250 million cap. Once capped, it can stay there for a few draws before it must be won — if it still isn't, the money rolls down to the next winning tier.
