Wild Chase: Tokyo Go slot

Wild Chase: Tokyo Go is a heist slot from Quickspin and the sequel to The Wild Chase, played on five reels of uneven height, three, three, four, four and five symbols tall, for 76 ways to win. Its defining idea is that any win in the main game buys another spin on a bigger grid. Four winning respins in a row unlock the Super Respin on a full 5x5 frame.

How Wild Chase: Tokyo Go plays

Quickspin moved the chase from the first game to the streets of Tokyo, with fast cars, expensive watches and jewellery setting the scene. The frame is shaped like a staircase: the first two reels show three symbols, the middle pair show four and the last reel shows five. Instead of fixed lines, the game counts ways to win, and an ordinary spin on that stepped frame offers 76 of them.

The paytable is led by a cast of four characters from the chase. The interesting part is not any single symbol but what happens after a win, because every paying spin in the main game leads straight into the respin chain described below.

Ways-to-win example: matching symbols on neighbouring reels pay in any row; a 5 × 3 grid gives 243 ways

Wild Chase: 5 reels in a 3-3-4-4-5 layout, 76 ways to win. The example shows 243 ways on a 5 × 3 grid.

Respin on Any Win

Quickspin names this feature for exactly what it does. Land any winning combination in the main game and a respin follows automatically. The reel grid gets larger with each respin, adding ways to win as it stretches towards five rows on every reel. The chain keeps going for as long as each respin produces a win, and it stops on the first one that does not. A short run might look like this: a base-game win, a first respin that pays on the larger grid, then a second that misses, which ends the sequence there.

Super Respin

The fourth winning respin in a row changes the rules. At that point the Super Respin begins on the full 5x5 grid with 259 ways to win. Winning symbols now lock in place while the remaining positions spin again, and the round continues for as long as new winning symbols arrive. When a spin adds nothing new, the feature ends. Counted out, the path is a paying base spin followed by winning respins one, two, three and four, and only after that fourth one does the Super Respin take over.

Wild Chase: Tokyo Go compared with Leprechaun Hills

Both games come from Quickspin and both answer a win with a respin, but the trigger and the result differ. Leprechaun Hills uses a fixed frame of five reels, four rows and 40 paylines, and its Lucky Respin only follows a win that includes a medium symbol, after which the reel strips fill with stacks of that symbol. Tokyo Go reacts to any win at all, and rather than stacking one symbol it enlarges the grid, from 76 ways at the start to 259 once the Super Respin is reached.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Wild Chase: Tokyo Go slot?

It is Quickspin’s follow-up to The Wild Chase, which the studio launched in April 2016 with Multiplier Wilds worth up to five times and a free spins round. That first game already held winning symbols in place for a respin. In the sequel, Quickspin’s own material describes two features, Respin on Any Win and the Super Respin.

How do the ways to win change in Wild Chase: Tokyo Go?

They start at 76 on the staggered base grid and climb as consecutive wins push the reels taller. Quickspin’s figure for the fully grown 5x5 grid used by the Super Respin is 259 ways. The sequence of four winning respins in a row is what takes the grid to that full size.

What can you stake on Wild Chase: Tokyo Go?

Quickspin’s game sheet gives a stake range of 0.20 to 100 a spin. In Great Britain online slots are capped at £5 a spin for most adults and at £2 for those aged 18 to 24, and those legal limits apply here whatever the studio’s own range allows.
