Dog Town Deal slot

Dog Town Deal is a game from Quickspin that brings blackjack scoring to 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 bet lines, set in a New Orleans casino where dogs are the characters. Its defining feature is the hand of cards. Two Card Scatters deal a hand on the spot, while three or more start Top Dog Free Spins, where line wins hand out cards and a Blackjack moves you three steps up a multiplier ladder.

How Dog Town Deal plays

Eight symbols pay on the 20 fixed lines. Four casino chips fill the lower end of the paytable, each paying the same amount, and four dog characters take the premium places above them, led by the top dog. A wild substitutes for all of them and also carries the highest line pays in the game.

The scatter is the Card Scatter, and the wild cannot stand in for it. It does two different jobs depending on how many Card Scatters arrive together on the reels. A pair turns into a blackjack hand straight away through The Deal Feature, while three, four or five open Top Dog Free Spins.

The Deal Feature

When exactly two Card Scatters land, both cards turn over and their values are added up the way a blackjack hand is scored. If the hand comes to 16 or more, it pays a multiple of your bet. A pair of Card Scatters never starts the free spins, so this is the base game’s own card prize, separate from the hands built later in Top Dog Free Spins.

Top Dog Free Spins

Three Card Scatters award 7 free spins, four award 10 and five award 15. During the round every winning line also deals cards into your hand: three of a kind adds one card, four of a kind adds two and five of a kind adds three. Those cards are scored the way a blackjack hand is, and each finished hand is then judged on the Multiplier Ladder.

The Multiplier Ladder

Your hand is built from the cards collected during Top Dog Free Spins, and it carries over from one spin to the next until it is finished. Each finished hand is then judged against the ladder. A Blackjack moves you up three steps, a 5 Card Charlie two steps, and any other hand worth 16 or more one step. A hand that goes over 21 is bust, and those cards are discarded without a step.

Dog Town Deal compared with The Dog House

Dogs and a 5x3 grid with 20 lines are what Dog Town Deal shares with The Dog House, released in 2019. The two part ways on where the extra value comes from. In The Dog House it rides on the wilds, which carry multipliers on reels 2, 3 and 4 and stay sticky through its free spins. Dog Town Deal puts the cards first: a pair of Card Scatters deals an instant hand in the base game, and its free spins are spent building blackjack hands to climb a ladder.

Game Grid and lines Where the bonus value comes from
Dog Town Deal 5 reels, 3 rows, 20 bet lines Blackjack hands from Card Scatters and free-spin wins, scored on a Multiplier Ladder
The Dog House 5 reels, 3 rows, 20 paylines Wilds with multipliers on reels 2, 3 and 4, sticky in the free spins

Dog Town Deal at Fortune Games

Dog Town Deal is filed with the slots in the Fortune Games lobby (18+); its tile row adds two more Quickspin games and three others led by dogs. The UK caps in the table apply to every player. There is no autoplay or turbo mode, as at every site licensed in Great Britain. Fortune Games has an app on the App Store and Google Play.

Frequently asked questions

What is Dog Town Deal?

It is a Quickspin slot that borrows the rules of blackjack for its features. The setting is a card game in a New Orleans casino with a cast of dogs, and its eight paying symbols split into four dog characters and four casino chips, alongside the wild and the Card Scatter.

What happens when a hand goes bust in Dog Town Deal?

A hand worth more than 21 is bust. Its cards are thrown away and the Multiplier Ladder does not move. Only a finished hand worth 16 or more, a 5 Card Charlie or a Blackjack takes you up the ladder, and a Blackjack is worth the most steps.

What stakes does Dog Town Deal offer?

Quickspin’s range for the game runs from 20p up to €100 a spin. For British players the stake limits for online slots apply on top of that range, and the key facts table shows both the general limit and the lower one for players aged 18 to 24.
