How Money Train plays

The base game is a straightforward line slot. Three to five matching symbols on one of the 40 fixed paylines, starting from the left, make a win. Four frontier-town character portraits pay the most, the four card suits fill the lower end of the paytable, and a wild symbol can complete line wins.

The reels mainly exist to deliver bonus symbols, which makes this a slot built around one feature. Relax Gaming describes it as high volatility, so long runs of small or no wins between bonus rounds are part of the design.

The Money Cart bonus

When bonus symbols land on reels 1, 3 and 5 together, the reels give way to the Money Cart, a grid on the carriage where each triggering symbol shows a multiplier value. You start with three respins. Most new symbols that land reset the count to three.

The round is shaped by its special characters, which act on the values already on the grid:

  • Collector – gathers the values of all visible symbols and adds them to its own.
  • Payer – adds its value to every visible symbol.
  • Persistent Collector and Persistent Payer – do the same again on every remaining respin, so they can grow a grid many times over.
  • Widener – brings an extra reel into play, giving more space for symbols.

Persistent characters landing early is what lets a round climb, while a round of plain values can end quickly.
