Merry Christmas Megaways slot review
Merry Christmas Megaways is a festive Megaways slot from Inspired Gaming, released in November 2021. Six main reels sit under a horizontal top reel, and reel heights change every spin for up to 117,649 ways to win. Wins cascade away, and in free spins each cascade lifts a multiplier with no upper limit, towards a maximum win of 25,000x the stake.

How Merry Christmas Megaways plays
Each of the six main reels lands between two and seven symbols, while the top reel always shows four. The top reel is the only place a wild can appear, so a wild there can complete ways across the whole grid. Wilds stand in for paying symbols but not the scatter.
Any win is cleared away and new symbols drop in from above, with the top reel refilling from the right. Cascades continue for as long as fresh wins form, so one paid spin can produce a run of wins. Santa is the top-paying symbol.
- Mystery symbols: can land anywhere and all turn into the same paying symbol once the reels stop.
- Fortune Bet: an optional setting that costs half as much again per spin and makes the free spins round about three times as likely to trigger.
- Scatters: four or more open the free spins.
Free spins and the rising multiplier
Four scatters anywhere in view award 12 free spins, and each scatter beyond four adds two more. The round uses the same cascades as the base game with one change: every winning cascade raises a win multiplier by one, and it is not reset between spins. With no cap, a long chain of cascades late in the round can be multiplied many times over.
Scatters can land again in the round: three add five free spins and four add ten, up to 80 free spins in all.
