Lotto Millionaire Raffle: What It Is and How Raffle Codes Work

The Lotto Millionaire Raffle is an extra prize draw that The National Lottery holds only on selected Lotto draw nights: on those nights a raffle code is added automatically to every Lotto line bought for the draw, and a number of codes are picked to win £1 million each. The first one took place on Saturday 4 July 2026, when 10 codes each won £1 million.

When the raffle runs

The raffle came with the Lotto changes the Gambling Commission, which regulates The National Lottery, approved in June 2026. The same decision brought in two rounds for every Wednesday and Saturday draw and allowed special event draws with a millionaire raffle during the year. The National Lottery says it may hold these every so often, so it hasn’t published a fixed calendar.

On a normal night, a Lotto line plays the two rounds. On a raffle night it also gets a raffle code. To see whether an upcoming draw includes a raffle, check the official National Lottery website or app.

How raffle codes work

Each Lotto line bought for a raffle draw gets its own code, so three lines carry three codes. The code is a separate entry, in addition to the main draw: it has nothing to do with your numbers, which still play both Lotto rounds.

On the night, a set number of codes are drawn as winners: 10 at the first raffle. Check the official details for how many prizes a raffle offers.

Where to find and check your code

The code appears on your Lotto ticket for that draw. Compare it with the winning raffle codes published for that draw; a £1 million prize needs an exact match.

What are the odds?

The raffle has no fixed odds. Every line in the draw gets a code, so a code’s chance depends on how many lines are sold and how many codes are drawn. The more lines, the lower each code’s chance. A raffle win is not guaranteed, and a raffle-night line costs the usual £2.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Lotto Millionaire Raffle in every draw?

No. It runs only on selected special event draws; a normal Lotto draw has no raffle.

Do you pay extra for a raffle code?

No. On a raffle night a code is added automatically to each Lotto line bought for that draw.

How much does a winning raffle code pay?

£1 million. At the first raffle, on 4 July 2026, 10 codes each won that amount.
