Gemix slot
Gemix is a Play’n GO slot played on a 7x7 grid, where clusters of five or more matching symbols pay and then make way for new ones. Clearing symbols fills the Crystal Charge meter, which releases one of four features that reshape the grid, and the game moves through three worlds, each with its own wild helper for spins that pay nothing. There are no free spins.
Editorial note: this guide explains how Gemix works. Rules, features and payout figures are set by the studio and can differ between operators and game versions, so check the game’s information panel before you play. Slots are games of chance, and nothing here predicts results. Availability at Fortune Games can change.

How Gemix plays
Every spin fills the grid with gems. Five or more matching symbols joined together form a cluster and pay, with the star and then the heart at the top of the paytable. The winning symbols are removed, the others drop down and new ones fall in from above, and this carries on until no new cluster appears, so a single spin can pay several times over.
Each cascade also counts towards two other things. The symbols it clears feed the Crystal Charge meter, and its wins can light up positions in the current world’s patterns, which is how the game moves through its three worlds. A wild that is not sticky is removed once it has been part of a win, like any other symbol in a cluster.
The Crystal Charge features
The Crystal Charge meter is full once wins have cleared 20 symbols, and when the cascades stop, a full meter sets off one of four features. Nova Blast explodes one symbol, removing those around it, and leaves a core of matching symbols in their place. Crystal Warp turns a chosen symbol and every copy of it into another symbol. Light Beam fires along a row and a column from one symbol and transforms what it hits. Chain Lightning joins two opposite corner symbols and turns the symbols in its path into a corner symbol.
Super Charge
Super Charge is the step past a full meter. If wins go on clearing symbols after the meter has filled, and it reaches 40 before the cascades end, the game is super charged and wins are multiplied by 3. As a worked example, a 40p win that lands after the game has been super charged pays £1.20.
The three worlds and their wilds
Each world has its own wild for spins that pay nothing. In the Miner’s world, up to 10 wilds drop onto the grid in place of regular symbols. In the Princess’ world, a symbol on the edge of the grid turns wild and the wild spreads until it reaches the far edge. In the Wizard’s world, up to 8 sticky wilds appear, and these stay where they are even when they form part of a winning cluster.
Gemix compared with Reactoonz and Reactoonz 2
Reactoonz, from October 2017, and Reactoonz 2, from October 2020, are Play’n GO grid slots on the same 7x7 grid with clusters of five or more. In Reactoonz, every winning cluster charges a meter until Gargantoon arrives on the grid. In Reactoonz 2, the symbols that Electric Wilds remove charge the Quantameter, and a full charge brings the Gargantoon wilds. Gemix fills its meter with every symbol a win clears, and its full meter transforms symbols instead of adding a giant wild.
| Game | Grid and wins | What charges the meter | What a full meter brings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reactoonz | 7x7, clusters of 5 or more | Every winning cluster | Gargantoon’s Quantum Leap onto the grid |
| Reactoonz 2 | 7x7, clusters of 5 or more | Symbols removed by Electric Wilds | Gargantoon wilds |
| Gemix | 7x7, clusters of 5 or more | Every symbol cleared in a win | One of four features that transform symbols |
Gemix at Fortune Games
Gemix 100 sits beside Gemix in the tiles above: a separate Play’n GO game from August 2024 that also has seven reels. Gemix itself is played from 50p a spin in the game’s range, and the UK caps in the key facts table set the highest stake. Fortune Games has an app on the App Store and Google Play.
Frequently asked questions
How is Gemix 100 different from Gemix?
Gemix 100 adds a win multiplier that grows with each cascading win, and clearing a full pattern adds 5x to it. Its Crystal Charge also triggers at 25 symbols rather than the 20 that Gemix needs. Like Gemix, it has three worlds to move through, each reached by clearing patterns on the grid.
How do you move between worlds in Gemix?
By clearing patterns. Each world shows a set of marked positions beside the grid, and a win that uses those positions clears them. Clearing the world’s patterns moves the game on to the next world, and with it comes a different wild helper for the spins that end without a win.
Which symbols pay the most in Gemix?
The star, followed by the heart. Both pay their top amounts for clusters of 15 or more, and those figures are in the key facts table. The cheaper symbols are coloured gems, among them blue, green and purple ones, and every symbol needs at least five in a cluster to pay at all.
