Five Star slot review

Five Star is a Red Tiger fruit slot released in 2016, with five reels, three rows and just three paylines. It has no free spins round and no wild: its two features are Repeat Spin, which can replay a winning spin and pay it again, and the Five Star symbol, which awards instant prizes. The maximum win is 2,000x the stake.

How Five Star plays

Each of the three rows is a payline, so wins come from matching symbols lined up straight across the reels. The symbols are classic fruit machine fare: cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes and watermelons, along with flaming sevens.

Above them all sits the Five Star symbol, which brings the game’s highest prizes. Three Five Stars give an instant win, four give a larger one and five give the top instant prize. With no wild, no free spins and no collection meter, each spin settles on its own, which keeps the game close to an old three-line fruit machine.

The Repeat Spin feature

Any line win can trigger Repeat Spin at random. When it does, the winning spin is played again and its win is paid again, and the repeat can happen more than once in a row, so a modest line win can be counted several times over.

Red Tiger later built Five Star Power Reels around the same Repeat Spin and Five Star prizes. That is a separate game with more reels and a 10,000x top payout, so check which version you have open before you read the paytable.
