Mystery Reels slot review
Mystery Reels is a fruit slot that Red Tiger released in June 2017, played on 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 fixed paylines. Everything revolves around one Mystery Symbol, which copies itself across the reels and then flips to show a single symbol. The highest possible payout is 4,991x stake.

How Mystery Reels plays
The symbols are pure fruit-machine stock. Cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes and watermelons fill most of the reels, with bells and red sevens at the top of the paytable. Payouts line up from the leftmost reel across the 20 lines, and there is no wild symbol at all.
That gap is filled by the Mystery Symbol, a golden apple marked with a question mark. When it lands, a number appears on it: that is how many copies it will make. The clones then spread up, down, left or right into neighbouring positions until all of them are placed. Finally every Mystery Symbol flips at once to reveal the same symbol from the paytable, which can line up several paylines in one go.
The reveal is not limited to fruit. A Mystery Symbol can also turn into the Wheel Bonus symbol, so a large group of clones can open the bonus as well as paying out on the lines.
The Wheel Bonus
The Wheel Bonus sits above the reels. Each Wheel Bonus symbol on the reels, whether it lands naturally or appears from a Mystery reveal, awards one spin of the wheel, so several of them together mean several spins.
The wheel’s segments do different jobs:
- Stake multipliers, paid straight away at the level shown.
- Extra spins, which add to the number of wheel spins left.
- Boosts that raise the multipliers on the wheel for the spins that follow.
Rather than a set of free spins on the reels, then, the bonus is a short run of wheel spins whose value can climb as it goes. The more spins collected at the start, the more chances the boosts have to build.
