Cash Stampede is a 2015 NextGen Gaming slot in which a herd of animals charges across the African plains. It plays on five reels and three rows with 243 ways to win, and its wild lands only on the middle reel: any animal win that uses it sets off the Cash Stampede Re-Spins, which hold the matching animals while the rest of the reels spin again.

How Cash Stampede plays
Wins pay for matching symbols on adjacent reels from the leftmost reel, in any position, so there are no paylines to follow. Five animals are the higher-paying symbols (a horse, an antelope, a rhino, a buffalo and an elephant), and all five share the same pay values. Card ranks from 10 to A fill the lower end.
The Cash Stampede logo is the wild. It appears only on reel 3 and substitutes for every symbol except the scatter, a gold Bonus coin that can land on reels 2, 3 and 4. Because the wild has just one reel to land on, the whole game turns on what happens in that middle column.
Cash Stampede Re-Spins and free spins
When an animal win includes the wild, the winning symbols and the wild are held in place and the other positions re-spin. Each extra matching animal that lands is held as well and earns another re-spin, so the feature keeps running for as long as new matches arrive.
Three Bonus coins pay 50x the stake and award 8 free spins. For the whole round a wild is fixed in the centre of reel 3, so any animal win that runs through that position can start the re-spins. The free spins can also be retriggered.
