How 9 Pots of Gold Megaways plays
The reels sit on a green background scattered with clover leaves, and their height changes on every spin. With six reels each showing up to seven symbols, the number of ways moves around from one spin to the next, topping out at 117,649. Winning symbols are cleared and new ones fall in from above, so a single spin can pay more than once.
The pots of gold are the part carried over from the earlier game, and from 9 Masks of Fire before it. They are scatters, so they pay wherever they land rather than needing to sit on adjacent reels, and the more of them in view, the larger the prize.
- Pots of gold: pay an Epic Strike prize for three to nine in view.
- GOLD scatters: four letters that spell G-O-L-D start the free spins.
- Wild: substitutes for the regular symbols.
GOLD free spins
Landing the four scatters that spell GOLD awards 10 free spins, and each extra scatter in view at the time adds five more. During the round a multiplier starts at 1x and goes up with every winning cascade. It does not reset between spins for as long as the feature lasts, so the later spins of a long round can carry a much larger multiplier than the first.
The game is rated as high volatility. In practice that means the free spins can take a long time to land, and the results of the feature vary widely from one round to the next.
