How Valley of the Gods plays
Valley of the Gods is built on a 5x5 grid, but most of it is covered when a spin begins. Only the centre of the grid is open, in a 1-3-5-3-1 shape that gives 45 ways to win, and the rest sits behind blockers. Wins pay for matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, so the more positions that are open, the more ways there are to connect them.
Every win triggers a re-spin and breaks some of the blockers, which opens more of the grid for the next spin. A run of wins can keep the re-spins going and push the grid towards its full 5x5 size, where there are 3,125 ways to win. When a re-spin brings no win, the run ends.

The scarab bonus: extra lives and multipliers
Clearing every blocker is the route into the bonus. Once the board is fully open, the two scarab collections beside the reels come into play, and from then on winning symbols add scarabs to them. One collection builds the win multiplier, and the other adds extra lives.
The lives are what make this round different. In the base game a single spin without a win ends the re-spins, but in the bonus an extra life lets the run carry on after a losing spin. When the lives are used up, the bonus ends.
Unlike most free spins slots, there is no scatter to land: the bonus comes only from linking wins together until every block is gone.
