The Goonies Hey You Guys slot review
Blueprint Gaming released The Goonies Hey You Guys in August 2023, adding to its licensed series of Goonies slots. The game uses 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 fixed paylines. The main mechanic is Sloth, a collect symbol on reel 5 that gathers the cash and jackpot symbols in view and upgrades through four levels.

How The Goonies Hey You Guys plays
Card royals are the low symbols and characters from the film sit above them, while a Never Say Die pirate flag pays the most: 100x the stake for five on a line. A coin wild substitutes for the regular symbols but not for scatters or cash symbols.
Cash symbols land on reels 1 to 4, and some show a fixed jackpot instead: Mini at 10x, Minor at 25x, Major at 100x and Mega at 2,000x the stake. When Sloth lands on reel 5 with any of them in view, he expands to fill the reel and collects every value. Each collect unlocks the next version of Sloth:
- Respin Sloth: collects, then respins reels 1 to 4 for a chance of more cash symbols.
- Boost Sloth: adds a cash boost to the values he collects.
- Super Collect: can collect the cash values in view up to 10 times.
Sloth can also appear at random on any spin to set off one of four modifiers: Hidden Treasure, Bonus Boost, Cave-In or one that adds random wilds.
Free spins and the Sloth meter
Three One-Eyed Willy scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 award 10 free spins. Sloth upgrades unlocked in the base game carry into the round, where he collects the gold coins that land.
Each Sloth that lands also fills a meter. Reaching 3, 6, 9 and 12 Sloths adds 5 more spins each time, together with a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 5x and then 10x. That meter is what makes the game distinctive, as Sloth shapes both the length and the strength of the free spins.
