Editorial note: this is a general guide to horror slots at Fortune Games. Slot rules, features and RTP can vary between operators and game versions, so always check each game's information panel before you spin. Slots are games of chance — nothing here is a prediction of results, and no strategy changes the odds.

Horror Slots

A horror slot takes its theme from Halloween or from horror stories, and our guides cover games with witches, vampires, werewolves and a Frankenstein-style monster. Our guides credit these games to Playtech, Ash Gaming (now part of Playtech), Inspired Gaming, Pragmatic Play, Skywind, NetEnt and Microgaming (now Games Global). Our guides to horror slots we stock are listed below.

What makes a horror slot

Halloween supplies much of the imagery. Halloween Fortune fills its reels with witches, black cats, ravens, amulets, potions and skulls, with the jack-o’-lantern pumpkin as the wild. Book of Halloween has a gothic graveyard look, with a pumpkin, a cauldron and a tombstone among its premium symbols.

Other games centre on a monster. Blood Suckers and Immortal Romance are vampire games, and Full Moon Fortunes makes the werewolf its wild. Curse of the Werewolf Megaways is set in a fog-bound village, with lanterns, wolfsbane and villagers among its paying symbols, while Alive! Megaways moves to a mad scientist’s laboratory with a Frankenstein-style monster.

Two kinds of feature recur. One is a transformation: in Full Moon Fortunes the Full Moon turns Dr Blackwood symbols into wilds, and in Curse of the Werewolf Megaways collected moon symbols fill a meter until the villager becomes the werewolf. The other is a pick round, such as the pick-a-grave game that opens the free spins in Full Moon Fortunes and the coffin bonus in Blood Suckers.

How horror slots differ

Grids run from fixed lines to thousands of ways. Halloween Fortune from Playtech and Full Moon Fortunes from Ash Gaming both use five reels, three rows and 20 paylines, while Blood Suckers from NetEnt has 25 lines on five reels. Immortal Romance pays 243 ways. Curse of the Werewolf Megaways from Pragmatic Play changes the heights of its six reels on every spin for up to 46,656 ways, and Alive! Megaways from Skywind tops its six reels with a horizontal reel, for up to 200,704 ways.

Free spins vary too. In Immortal Romance, the Chamber of Spins has a mode for each of Amber, Troy, Michael and Sarah, unlocked at the 1st, 5th, 10th and 15th triggers. Alive! Megaways starts its free games multiplier at 1x and adds 1 for every cascade win, with no upper limit. Blood Suckers gives 10 free spins with all wins tripled, and Curse of the Werewolf Megaways offers its free spins in tiers of increasing volatility.

Our guides rate Blood Suckers low volatility and Curse of the Werewolf Megaways and Alive! Megaways high. Halloween Fortune is rated low to medium and Full Moon Fortunes medium to high by reviewers, and Immortal Romance is rated medium-high.

Where to start

  • Halloween Fortune: the Witches’ Brew bonus, where a witch reveals up to 20 free spins and a potion sets a multiplier of up to 10x.
  • Book of Halloween: Inspired Gaming’s take on the “Book of” format, where one randomly chosen symbol can expand to fill whole reels in the 10 free spins.
  • Halloween Cash Pots: an Inspired game from October 2020, where six or more Cash Pots on reels 1 to 4 and a Bonus symbol on reel 5 on the same spin start the Cash Collector Bonus.
  • Full Moon Fortunes: the Full Moon is active on every free spin, so Dr Blackwood wilds with multipliers from 1x to 5x combine with the round’s multiplier.
  • Immortal Romance: the 2011 vampire saga from Microgaming, now Games Global, where a random base-game feature can turn up to all five reels wild.

All values (Bet Levels, Maximum Wins etc.) mentioned in relation to this slot game are subject to change at any time.

Frequently asked questions

What are horror slots?

Horror slots are slot games themed on Halloween or on figures from horror stories, such as witches, vampires and werewolves. Depending on the game, the werewolf can be the wild, as in Full Moon Fortunes, or a villager who changes when a meter fills, as in Curse of the Werewolf Megaways.

Which horror slots can I play at Fortune Games?

Every game in the A to Z list above is in our lobby, including Immortal Romance, Halloween Fortune and Blood Suckers. You must be 18 or over to play.

Do horror slots give a better chance of winning?

No. The theme makes no difference to the odds: every slot is a game of chance, each spin’s result is random, and the RTP is shown in each game’s information panel.
