Gorilla Kingdom slot
Gorilla Kingdom is a jungle slot from NetEnt, launched in April 2020. It runs on 5 reels and 4 rows with 1,024 ways to win, and its wildlife sits in a clear order, with the gorilla at the top. The defining idea lives in the free spins: Gorilla Masks fill a Totem Stone beside the reels, and each completed panel turns one of the lesser animals into a gorilla for the rest of the round.
Editorial note: this guide explains how Gorilla Kingdom works. Rules, features and payout figures are set by the studio and can differ between operators and game versions, so check the game’s information panel before you play. Slots are games of chance, and nothing here predicts results. Availability at Fortune Games can change.

How Gorilla Kingdom plays
NetEnt sets the game deep in a rainforest ruled by mighty apes, and the reels carry the creatures that share it with them: the pangolin, the okapi, the hornbill and the leopard. The gorilla outranks all four and pays the most of any symbol. With 1,024 ways across the 5x4 grid there are no lines to follow; matching symbols on neighbouring reels from the left make a win wherever they sit in each column, a structure explained in our guide to ways to win vs paylines.
Most of the game’s character is held back for the free spins round, where the animal line-up starts to change. NetEnt describes the variance as designed to appeal to a broad range of players.
The Totem Stone
A Totem Stone stands to the side of the reels for the whole of the free spins. It is split into four panels, one each for the leopard, the hornbill, the okapi and the pangolin, and every panel has six empty slots, 24 in total. Gorilla Masks that land during the round are collected into those slots one at a time, so progress is visible beside the reels throughout the round.
Symbol transforms
Completing a panel is the payoff. When all six slots of an animal’s panel hold a mask, that animal is replaced by a gorilla on the reels and the round gains two extra free spins. Fill the leopard’s panel, for example, and every leopard that follows lands as a gorilla, while the count of remaining spins rises by two. Completing all four panels, all 24 slots, goes furthest: every animal symbol on the reels becomes a gorilla, leaving the top symbol as the only animal in play.
Extra free spins
Scatters keep working once the round has started. Two scatters landing together during the free spins add three spins. Because a completed panel also adds two, the round can stretch in two separate ways: scatters lengthen it directly, and masks lengthen it while they improve the reels. Both kinds of extra spins are added to whatever is left of the round rather than starting a new one.
Gorilla Kingdom compared with Gorilla Gold Megaways
Gorilla Gold Megaways came out the same year with a much larger structure: four Megaways reel sets played at once, adding up to 470,596 ways. Its golden monkeys unlock extra reel sets in its Super Spins, where Gorilla Kingdom’s masks transform animals on a single 5x4 grid. Gorilla Kingdom keeps one grid from the first spin to the last.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Gorilla Kingdom slot?
It is a NetEnt video slot whose features are concentrated in one place. At launch the studio listed them as free spins, symbol transforms, extra free spins and the Totem Stone, and all four belong to the free spins round. The base game is where you land the symbols that pay across the 1,024 ways.
Which animals can turn into gorillas?
Four of them: the leopard, the hornbill, the okapi and the pangolin, each with its own six-slot panel on the Totem Stone. The changes belong to the round in which the masks were collected: once those free spins end, the transformed symbols return to their usual form, and the full animal line-up is back on the reels for the base game.
Is Gorilla Kingdom the same game as Gorilla Gold Megaways?
No. Gorilla Gold Megaways is a separate 2020 release from Blueprint Gaming. Its bonus starts when four or more diamond scatters land in any of its reel sets, and a Bonus Wheel then awards either Free Spins or Super Spins, both with an unlimited win multiplier and cascading wins. Gorilla Kingdom has no wheel and no Super Spins.
