Golden Ticket slot review

Golden Ticket is a circus-themed grid slot from Play’n GO, released in October 2014. Symbols drop onto a 5x5 grid and pay for three or more in a row, horizontally or vertically, while a win multiplier climbs with each new drop. Clearing a BONUS column opens a bonus game, and the maximum win is 20,578x stake.

How Golden Ticket plays

Golden Ticket has no reels in the usual sense. Each spin fills a 5x5 grid, and a win needs three or more matching symbols in a straight row, either across or down. Winning symbols are removed and the symbols above fall into the gaps, with new ones dropping in from the top, so one spin can keep paying as long as fresh rows form.

  • Win multiplier: a meter next to the grid rises by one with each new drop after a win, so later wins in a sequence pay more.
  • Golden Ticket wild: when a three-symbol win is removed, the wild appears in the middle position and can help form the next win.
  • Grid clear: clearing every symbol from the grid awards a special payout.

That rising multiplier is what makes long sequences matter: the more drops a single spin produces, the more each later win in that sequence is multiplied.

The bonus game

Behind the grid, the word BONUS sits in columns that are hidden by symbols. When a sequence of wins clears every symbol from a BONUS column, the bonus game starts. Play’n GO says the bonus multiplier is set by how many BONUS columns were fully cleared.

The bonus switches to a fairground stall with its own symbols. It starts with 10 rounds, and in these rounds a win needs five or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid rather than in a row. Collecting bonus star symbols adds more rounds, up to a total of 20. When the rounds run out, the game returns to the main grid.
