Eye of Horus Gambler slot review

Eye of Horus Gambler is a Blueprint Gaming slot from July 2020, built on the classic Eye of Horus layout of five reels, three rows and 10 paylines. The gamble in its name happens at the start of the bonus: you choose one of four free spins set-ups, trading the number of spins against how many symbols begin the round already upgraded.

How Eye of Horus Gambler plays

Outside the bonus, this is the Eye of Horus most players will recognise. Horus is the wild, and when he lands he stretches to cover his entire reel, substituting for the regular symbols but not for the temple scatter. Wins are paid on 10 fixed lines, so there are no line settings to adjust, only the stake.

The temple scatter pays wherever it appears. Three or more trigger the free spins, and that is where Gambler parts company with the rest of the series.

Choosing your free spins

Instead of a fixed round, a selection screen offers four routes:

  • 12 free spins: the longest round, with no symbols upgraded at the start. This is the gentlest option.
  • 10 free spins: two fewer spins, but the low-paying flower symbol begins the round already promoted to an ankh.
  • 8 free spins: the shortest round, with two of the low symbols already upgraded, which makes it the most volatile choice.
  • Mystery Choice: a random mix of spin count and starting upgrades drawn from the other options.

Once the round begins, the familiar ladder takes over. Each expanding Horus wild upgrades the symbols on the tablets above the reels and can add extra spins, so a set-up that starts with fewer low symbols can climb to the premiums sooner.

Frequently asked questions

Which free spins option should I pick?

Each option only changes the shape of the round: more spins with fewer upgrades, or fewer spins with more. None of them changes the odds set by the game.

What is Mystery Choice?

It hands the decision to the game, which picks a random number of spins and a random set of starting upgrades.

How is it different from the original Eye of Horus?

The original always plays the same free spins round. Gambler lets you choose between four versions of it before it starts.

What is the RTP?

The game’s information panel shows it. RTP can differ between operators and game versions, so check the panel in the version you play.
