How Ecuador Gold plays
The story follows the explorer Kane into the lost Temple of Luck deep in the South American rainforest. Kane is the top symbol, three golden masks make up the rest of the premium set, and carved stones cover the lower values.
Symbols drop in rather than spin. Winning symbols explode, new ones fall into the gaps and the grid gains a row, stepping up through 15,625, 46,656 and 117,649 ways on the way to 262,144. Two other mechanics set it apart:
- Super, Mega and Epic symbols: every paying symbol can land as a standard 1x1 block or as a 2x2, 3x3 or even 4x4 giant, filling a large part of the grid with one picture.
- Ghosting wilds can appear in any drop in the base game. A ghosting wild moves a random number of steps in any direction and leaves wilds behind it.
The Free Drops bonus
Three or more bonus symbols trigger Free Drops, with up to 25 drops on offer. The round starts with the grid at four rows, but here each win raises a safety level, so the extra rows you earn are kept rather than lost when a drop ends without a win. That safety level can keep climbing until the grid holds at the full 262,144 ways.
The bonus also brings indestructible wilds that stay on the grid through the avalanches. This is the real difference from the base game: there every row is temporary, while in Free Drops the bigger grid you build can carry over from drop to drop.
