How Dark Summoning plays
Lines pay across the 5x6 grid on 24 fixed paths. Hacksaw’s own twist on cascading reels is the Super Cascade: once a win is paid, it is not only the winning symbols that go but every symbol of that type on the grid, and the gaps refill from above for another chance to pay.
Two scatters drive everything else. When an Order scatter lands, Will of the Order turns it and a spread of other symbols into wilds; if several land, each one triggers separately. The Unholy scatter is a collectable: one that appears as part of a win is stored in the top-right corner, and three landing on the same spin are collected straight away, win or not.
Wild multipliers
Wilds substitute for every paying symbol and can carry a multiplier from a fixed list, starting at 2x and rising through steps such as 10x, 25x and 50x to a top value of 100x. There are two colours. The blue wild appears in the base game and in Rise to Salvation, and the red wild belongs to Trial by Hellfire. Hacksaw states that the two colours work in exactly the same way.
Trial by Hellfire
Collecting three Unholy symbols in a single base-game round, with no Order symbol in play, opens Trial by Hellfire with 10 free spins. Here every winning position is marked with Hellfire. When an Unholy symbol lands, Fires of Hell turns that symbol and all the marked positions into red wilds, then clears the marks so the grid can start building them again.
Rise to Salvation and the Lost Souls
If an Order symbol is on the grid when the third Unholy symbol is collected, the game sends you to Rise to Salvation instead, also with 10 free spins. Gravity is reversed, so symbols move upwards rather than falling. Lost Souls appear and stay on the reels, rising as spaces open beneath them until they Ascend at the top or the round ends. A Global Multiplier Lost Soul adds its value to the round’s Global Multiplier, while a Cash Prize Lost Soul awards a cash prize.
Dark Summoning compared with Wanted Dead or a Wild
Wanted Dead or a Wild is the Hacksaw game Dark Summoning most resembles: line pays and more than one bonus round. Wanted uses a smaller 5x5 grid with 15 lines, has three bonus rounds to Dark Summoning’s two, and its signature VS symbols expand into wild reels and show multipliers. Its maximum win is the higher of the two.

Which bonus round will Dark Summoning give me?
That depends on the board when the third Unholy symbol is collected, not on a choice you make. With an Order symbol present, the game opens Rise to Salvation, with its upward-moving symbols and Lost Souls; without one, it opens Trial by Hellfire and its Hellfire marks. Both start with the same 10 free spins, so the difference lies entirely in how each round builds.
What are Lost Souls in Dark Summoning?
They are special symbols found only in Rise to Salvation. Unlike ordinary symbols, they do not disappear in the cascades. Each one climbs as spaces open below it, and reaching the top row is what Hacksaw calls Ascending. Some add to the round’s Global Multiplier, and others pay a cash prize of their own.
Do Unholy symbols have to be part of a win?
Usually, yes. A single Unholy symbol is stored in the top-right corner only when it appears as part of a win, and the three needed for a bonus must be collected within one base-game round. The exception is three Unholy symbols landing on the same spin: those are collected straight away, whether or not anything pays.
