Christmas Krampus slot review
Christmas Krampus is a Light & Wonder slot from December 2022 that swaps the usual jolly Santa for the horned figure of Alpine folklore. It plays on five reels, three rows and 10 fixed paylines. The hook is a free spins round where Krampus walks across the reels as a wild, triggering respins and grabbing the cash values on nearby presents, with a top prize of 2,000x the stake.

How Christmas Krampus plays
Outside the bonus, this is a straightforward line slot. Matching symbols pay from the leftmost reel along any of the 10 lines, and a standard wild fills gaps in a line. The darker tone shows in the art: an anxious elf in green, a snowman and a Christmas tree sit above wrapped gifts and the 10 to A card ranks, and the game logo is the top payer. Presents show cash values in every spin, but those values only pay out in free spins.
- Green hand scatter: Krampus’s clawed hand, which lands only in the base game.
- Wild: substitutes for the regular pay symbols.
- Presents: show values from 2x to 50x the bet, collected during the bonus.
Krampus free spins and respins
Three, four or five green hands award 6, 8 or 10 free spins. Scatters don’t appear inside the round, so the count you start with is the count you get: there are no retriggers.
What makes the round different is Krampus himself. When he lands, the free spins pause and he acts as a wild that sets off a respin. After each respin he steps one reel to the left, collecting the value of any present next to him, and the respins carry on until he walks off the grid. A Krampus landing on the right-hand reels has the longest walk. Then the free spins resume.
