Caishen’s Gold slot review
Caishen’s Gold is a 2017 Pragmatic Play slot with five reels, three rows and 243 ways to win. Caishen, the Chinese god of wealth, is the wild, and whenever he is on screen he can randomly start a coin-matching game for one of four fixed jackpots worth up to 1,000x your stake. A separate free spins round strips the low-value symbols from the reels.

How Caishen’s Gold plays
There are no paylines to pick. Wins come from three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels, counted from the leftmost reel, across all 243 ways, and the reels mix Chinese motifs with card values:
- Higher-value symbols include a lotus flower, a fan and a lute
- Lower-value symbols are the card values 9 to A
- Caishen is the wild and the gateway to the jackpot game
- Scatters start the free spins when three or more land
Every spin is priced at 38 coins, which explains the unusual 38p minimum stake at the smallest coin size.
The Jackpot Bonus Game and free spins
Any spin with Caishen in view can randomly trigger the Jackpot Bonus Game. You are shown 12 gold coins and turn them over to reveal jackpot symbols, and three of the same kind win that jackpot. The Mini, Minor, Major and Grand are worth 30x, 50x, 100x and 1,000x your stake.
Land three or more scatters and you get 10 free spins. For the whole round the low-value card symbols are removed from the reels, which leaves only Caishen, the scatters and the higher-value symbols to land.
