How Boom Pirates plays
Captain Mary and her pirate crew are out treasure hunting, with their ship moored beside the reels. Mary is the top-paying symbol, and wins pay across 1,024 ways on the 5x4 base grid.
Mary also has a feature of her own. On a spin that doesn’t win, she can swing across the reels and change some symbols to award a five-of-a-kind win.
Foxify is an optional setting that raises the stake by half in exchange for a better chance of triggering the game’s features.
The Boom Pirates feature and free spins
The Boom Pirates feature can start at random on any base game spin. The pirate ship breaks open covered cells around the grid, adding reels and rows that can take it as far as nine reels by six rows. This is Wonderways, the Foxium mechanic that made its debut in this game.
Free spins come from the Yo-Ho-Ho scatters, which land on reels 1, 3 and 5. Landing all three awards 10 free spins.
During the round, any cells the Boom Pirates feature opens stay open until the free spins end. Instead of resetting after each spin, the grid can keep growing, and that is what sets the free spins apart from the base game.
