Book of Gods slot review

Book of Gods is a Big Time Gaming slot played on five reels and three rows with 243 ways to win. Its twist on the familiar Egyptian book formula is symbol cloning: on every base-game spin, the book on the left of the reels picks a symbol that can be copied across whole reels after wins are paid.

How Book of Gods plays

Book of Gods brings its main idea into the base game. On each spin, the book beside the reels flips to one of the six card ranks, from 9 up to A. That rank becomes the Cloning Symbol for the spin. In the game’s own rules, after any wins are paid, every instance of the Cloning Symbol is cloned to fill the reels where it lands, so a single 9 on each of three adjacent reels can turn into three full reels of 9s.

Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels. The symbols are:

  • Four gods, coloured purple, red, blue and green, with the purple god paying the most
  • The card ranks A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9, which act as the base-game cloning symbols
  • The Book of Gods itself, which is both the wild and the scatter

Free spins and god cloning

Three or more books anywhere on the reels start the free spins. Three books award 15 free spins, and four or five books award more, up to 25. In this round one of the four gods is chosen as the Cloning Symbol instead of a card rank, so the copies come from the higher-paying set.

The free spins can be retriggered by landing three or more books again, and Big Time Gaming describes the retriggers as unlimited. Each retrigger brings in another god that can also be cloned, so a long run of retriggers can leave several premium symbols copying themselves across the grid at the same time. That build-up sets it apart from book slots where one expanding symbol does all the work.
