How African Quest plays

A tree-lined savannah glows red and orange behind the reels. Kubwa the lion is the top regular symbol and can land in stacks of two or three, with the elephant, rhino, giraffe and zebra as the other high pays and card ranks A to 9 as the low ones.

  • Wild: an acacia tree against the sunrise, found only on reels 2, 3 and 4. It stands in for every symbol except the scatter.
  • Scatter: a map of Africa that pays in any position. Three or more start the free spins.
  • Hyperspins: in versions that include them, you can pay to respin a single reel after a base game spin.

Free spins: pick your package

Three, four or five scatters trigger the round, and you then pick one of three packages, each holding more spins when more scatters land:

  • 5, 10 or 15 free spins, with wilds carrying 3x or 4x
  • 8, 15 or 20 free spins, with wilds carrying 2x or 3x
  • 12, 25 or 40 free spins, with wilds carrying 1x or 2x

During the round, a wild in a win applies its multiplier, and when two or three wilds share a win their multipliers are multiplied together, so three 4x wilds make 64x. Two or more scatters during the round add extra spins.

That choice is what gives the round its character. The first package is the most volatile, packing the largest multipliers into the shortest run, while the third spreads the round across the most spins.
