Totem Lightning slot review
Totem Lightning is a Red Tiger slot released in April 2017, with carved animal totems on the reels. It plays on five reels with 40 paylines and uses tumbling reels that gradually clear the low-value card symbols out of play, with random lightning strikes and a Totem Multiplier bonus layered on top.

How Totem Lightning plays
Wins pay on 40 lines, and every win sets off a tumble: the winning symbols drop away and new ones fall into the gaps, so one spin can produce several wins in a row. The symbols are:
- Carved animal totems, which carry the higher prizes
- A, K, Q, J and 10, the lower-value card symbols
- Bonus symbols, which lead to the Totem Multiplier bonus
The twist is symbol removal. When low-value card symbols form part of a win, that symbol is taken out of play for the following tumbles. The longer a tumble sequence runs, the fewer card symbols are left, so later drops lean towards the totems.
Lightning strikes and the Totem Multiplier bonus
At random, lightning can strike the reels and transform low-value symbols, clearing space for the animal totems and sometimes setting up a fresh win and another tumble. It needs no trigger symbol, so it can arrive on any spin.
Three or more bonus symbols start the Totem Multiplier bonus. Here the totem pole rises to set a multiplier that applies to the wins that follow. This replaces the free spins round you might expect: Totem Lightning has no free spins, so the bonus symbols, the tumbles and the lightning carry the whole game between them.
That is the main thing to understand before you play. Rather than waiting for one feature, you are watching each tumble sequence thin out the reels, which makes it a medium-volatility slot with plenty of small chain reactions.
