How Sweet Alchemy 100 plays
The four low-value symbols are the Heart, the Sugar Cube, the Bean and the Donut, and Play’n GO frames the whole game as clearing them away. Above them sit the three witch symbols, Cherry, Berry and Apple, and a mix of different witches pays a separate, lower award. A win needs three, four or five identical symbols in a straight horizontal or vertical line.
Every win sets off cascading reels: the winning symbols vanish, those above fall into the gaps and new ones drop in from the top. Where three symbols disappear, a wild takes the middle spot, ready to substitute in the next cascade. Each fall in a sequence lifts the Win Multiplier, which can climb no higher than x100.
Witch Powers
A losing spin is where the witches earn their keep. When a spin pays nothing, the witch beside the grid casts one effect at random. Cherry converts one low-paying symbol type into a more valuable one. Berry places one or two wilds on the grid. Apple clears two types of low-paying symbol at once, and if none are left she lets you take a wild or a high-paying symbol instead.
The Trinity metre
High-paying witch wins feed a three-segment metre under the reels. Three matching witches fill one segment, four fill two, and five fill it outright, with wilds counting towards the line. Once the metre is full, the Trinity feature plays a single free round in which Cherry, Berry and Apple act one after another. If that round leaves the grid empty, the free spins begin. If it does not, the Win Multiplier resets.
Free Spins and the Clear Grid Prize
Clearing the grid matters twice. Outside the Trinity round it pays the Clear Grid Prize shown in the table. Inside it, the free spins start and you choose one witch: Cherry gives the shortest round of 4 spins and Apple the longest of 8, and the chosen witch’s power then fires on every spin that fails to pay. The Win Multiplier no longer resets between spins, so it can build towards x100, and refilling the metre adds spins, up to 100 in all.
Sweet Alchemy 100 compared with Moon Princess 100 and Reactoonz
Sweet Alchemy 100 shares its structure with Moon Princess 100, which Play’n GO released in April 2022. Both use a 5x5 grid, three characters with powers on losing spins and a three-part metre, with the princesses Love, Star and Storm in the witches’ roles. Reactoonz is the older grid game from the same studio and works differently: a larger 7x7 grid, clusters of five or more, and a charged-up Gargantoon instead of a choice of characters.
