Omaze House Draws: How the Prize Homes Work

The Omaze "Million Pound House" draws are the company's headline events. Here's exactly how the prize side works once a winner is drawn.

A guaranteed winner

Every house draw has a guaranteed winner, even if ticket sales are lower than hoped. The house and the minimum charity donation are both guaranteed, so the draw isn't contingent on hitting a sales target.

What the winner actually receives

The property, transferred mortgage-free.
Stamp duty covered by Omaze, regardless of the winner's circumstances.
Reasonable legal and conveyancing fees covered.
A cash alternative is usually offered, often around 80% of the property's value, for winners who'd prefer money.

How the winner is chosen and told

A certified random number generator selects a winning entry code, which is matched to the entrant's details. Omaze emails the winner on the announcement date and phones them, and for the grand prize often arranges a surprise doorstep visit.
