Mega Joker slot review

Mega Joker is NetEnt’s 2008 take on the classic fruit machine: three reels, five fixed paylines and a progressive jackpot that grows each time the basic game is played. Its best-known feature is the Supermeter, a second set of reels above the first where basic-game wins can be played on at higher coin bets.

How Mega Joker plays

Its symbols are classic fruit-machine ones: cherries, lemons, oranges, grapes, watermelons, bells, sevens and a treasure chest. The basic game plays on the lower reels at one to ten coins a spin. Jokers bring mystery wins: a random coin prize that depends on where they land and on the bet. There are no free spins and no wild in the usual sense. The progressive jackpot is won on a randomly selected basic-game round, and other players at the same casino see a message when it goes.

The Supermeter

A basic-game win can move to the Supermeter, shown in the middle of the screen. It is then played on the upper reels at 20, 40, 100 or 200 coins a spin, paid from that credit rather than from a new stake, with its own paytable. The top Supermeter win is 2,000 coins, which is 200 times the 10-coin basic bet. You can collect the Supermeter credit back to your balance at any stage, and the jackpot can’t be won in Supermeter mode.
