How Hot Off The Press plays
The game runs on five reels with three rows and 25 paylines, with a newspaper press backdrop and classic fruit machine symbols. Wins pay for matching symbols along the lines, and two different special symbols do the heavy lifting:
- The Hot Off The Press logo is the wild. It substitutes for the regular symbols to complete line wins, and three or more of them start the Prize Pick bonus.
- The Free Games newspaper is the scatter. Three or more anywhere on the reels start the free spins.
So the base game has two routes into a feature: a quick pick-and-reveal prize, or a longer round of spins.
Prize Pick and the free spins
Prize Pick. Three or more logo symbols in view start the Prize Pick. You get one pick for each logo symbol that triggered it, and each pick reveals a prize of up to 500x your total stake. The prizes from all of your picks are added together.
Free spins. Three or more Free Games newspapers award 6 free spins with a 2x multiplier on wins. Before the spins begin, a pick feature lets you add to the round: each pick can add three more free spins or raise the multiplier by 1x, 2x or 3x. The total multiplier then applies to every win in the round.
The pick feature can be triggered again during the free spins, up to 15 times, so a round that starts with 6 spins can grow in both length and multiplier. That build-up sets it apart from a round where spins and multiplier are fixed from the start.
