How Gems Gone Wild plays

Strip away the cosmic backdrop and this is a compact three-row slot with nothing but gemstones on the reels. You won’t find card ranks or fruit symbols, so every spin is judged on the same thing: whether matching gems line up on one of the 20 lines, and whether any of them decides to go wild.

That simplicity is the point. Red Tiger built the game around one mechanic rather than a menu of bonuses, which makes it quick to learn and easy to follow on a phone screen. Most spins settle in a second; the ones that run longer are the ones where wilds start to appear.

Random wilds and respins

On any spin, one or more gems can switch into wilds. When that happens, the wilds stay where they are and the reels spin again at no extra cost. If that respin turns another gem wild, it joins the ones already held and the game respins once more, so a single wild can grow into a chain.

  • The trigger is random, so it can happen on any paid spin.
  • Held wilds substitute for the gems around them on the paylines.
  • The run ends when a respin adds no new wild.

Because the respins carry on only while fresh wilds keep appearing, most chains are short, but a long one can cover much of the 15-position grid.

How it differs from Power Reels. Gems Gone Wild Power Reels is the later remake on a much larger grid with three separate wild features. The original keeps to one loop: 5x3, 20 lines, and the wild-and-respin cycle.
