Christmas Bonanza slot review
Christmas Bonanza is Big Time Gaming’s seasonal follow-up to its original Megaways slot, released in December 2022. Six reels change height on every spin for up to 117,649 ways to win, and cascades run both downwards and sideways. The free spins carry a win multiplier with no ceiling, and the maximum win is 26,000x the stake.

How Christmas Bonanza plays
Each reel shows between two and seven symbols, so the number of ways shifts from spin to spin. Festive gift symbols are the higher pays, with 9 to A card ranks underneath. Big Time Gaming calls its cascades Reactions, and here they work in two directions: winning symbols vanish, new symbols drop in from above on the main reels and slide in from the side on the horizontal reel.
The festive twist is the carts. Each cart sitting above reels two to five adds one symbol to the reel beneath it, which can lift the number of ways for that spin. A wild substitutes for the regular pay symbols in both the base game and the bonus.
Free spins and the uncapped multiplier
As in the original, scatter letters spell G-O-L-D. Landing all four awards 12 free spins, and every extra scatter on the triggering spin adds five more. During the round, three scatters add five spins and four add 10.
The multiplier starts at 1x when free spins begin and rises after every Reaction. It never resets between spins and has no upper limit, so a long chain of cascades early in the round can carry a higher multiplier into the spins that follow. This is a high volatility game, so the round can also finish quietly.

Frequently asked questions
How does Christmas Bonanza differ from Bonanza?
It keeps the Megaways reels and G-O-L-D scatters but adds carts that put extra symbols on reels two to five, and cascades that move in two directions.
How do you trigger free spins?
Land the four scatter letters that spell G-O-L-D for 12 free spins, with five more for each extra scatter.
Does the free spins multiplier reset?
No. It starts at 1x, grows after every Reaction and stays in place for the whole round, with no upper limit.
What is the RTP?
The game’s information panel shows it. RTP can differ between operators and game versions, so check the panel in the version you play.
