Book of Vikings slot review
Book of Vikings is Pragmatic Play’s Norse take on the classic book format, released widely in July 2021. It runs on five reels, three rows and 10 paylines, with a magic book that acts as both wild and scatter. Three books open 10 free spins with a randomly chosen expanding symbol, and the maximum win is 5,500x stake.

How Book of Vikings plays
Wins pay for matching symbols along the 10 lines, with card ranks plus Norse character symbols and a Viking warrior at the top of the paytable. The book does the heavy lifting:
- As a wild: it substitutes for other symbols in line wins.
- As a scatter: three, four or five books anywhere pay 2x, 20x or 200x stake and start the free spins.
Free spins with the expanding symbol
Three or more books award 10 free spins. First, one regular symbol is picked at random as the expanding symbol. When it lands during the round, it can expand to fill its reel, turning a few copies into full-reel blocks.
Which symbol you get matters: a card rank lands often but pays modestly, while the Viking appears less often and pays far more. Three or more books in the feature add 10 more spins, with no cap. Unlike newer book slots with extra modifiers, the round sticks to one expanding symbol.
