Dogs are fun and straightforward, whereas cats are more mysterious and almost spooky. The ancient Egyptians held cats in high regard, dressing them up in jeweled clothes and even mummifying them when they died. They believed that cats brought good luck, which is something that any player can take advantage of as much as possible. As you can see in Cleocatra, you also get dressed up cats, and Pragmatic Play has done a good job with the theme of the game.

If not for the cats, it would be rather generic, and this can be seen as a kind of companion to The Dog House for cats. In addition to the cute Egyptian style cats, you also get multiplier wilds and sticky cats respins features as part of the base game. There are plenty of features in this game to keep you entertained, and when the multiplier wilds become sticky in the bonus round, you will be able to win 5,000x your stake.

Features of the Cleocatra slot machine

The premium symbols pay between 2.5 and 20 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, with the 4 Egyptian cats being the highest-paying symbols. In this game, a pyramid Wild can only appear on the second and fifth reels, and it can be used in place of regular symbols to help complete winning combinations. If more than one wild is part of the same winning combo, it will result in a multiplier of either x2 or x3 that will be added up.

If you have a full stack of one of the four cat symbols on reel 1 in the base game, you will be able to activate the Respin feature. As soon as the matching cat symbol stack appears on the remaining reels, all non-sticky positions will respin until you have secured your win. Once the matching cat symbol stack becomes sticky, any matching cats and/or multiplier wilds on the remaining reels will also become sticky, as well.

The Bonus Round is triggered when you land 3, 4 or 5 scatters on the same reel. You receive 5x your stake if you get three, four or five scatters. You then get 8, 12 or 16 free spins, respectively, and all multiplier wilds that land (still on reels 2-5 only) become sticky for the duration of the feature. Landing a stack of matching cat symbols on reel 1 will award you 2 extra spins.

Summary of the review

There are a number of features in the game that are essentially rehashed from earlier games, but this new one is a feline ancient Egypt adventure with a clever title that ties them together. It isn't uncommon to see this kind of approach to slot machines in the world of online slots, but for a mid-level release like Cleocatra, it sort of works. In the event that the cats were replaced with gods, the visuals would have been as generic as they can get, but the dressed up felines do add a certain charm to the overall picture.

With its animal theme and the animal theme, the closest relative to this game is Pragmatic's own The Dog House. However, the difference is that wild multipliers are added together instead of multiplied, so they can land on 4 reels rather than just 3 in this game. In both installments, wilds remain sticky in the bonus round, but Cleocatra comes with a somewhat lower 5,000x bonus potential, even though it offers twice the number of winning lines. As a result of the Respins feature, however, this game adds a special level of excitement to the game that is unique.
