Review of Buffalo Toro Slot

It's bull time again! Their 5th anniversary was celebrated with a trip around iGaming, so the bull and his matador have decided to make 2022 their year by touring the U.S. Buffalo Toro is the latest installment in the beloved series and combines the allure of Spanish corrida with the American wilderness.

In spite of the fact that Wild Toro is not as brutal as the actual corrida, it still packs a good punch. You can expect a little bit of everything in this colourful online slot, with a multitude of features and a great soundtrack, but also high volatility and an RTP below average for the industry. They make a team you want to meet again and again despite Toro's allegiance to the Natives and the matador's cowboy boots! Olé!

Graphics and theme

Spanish and Mexican influences can be found in the Toro series of slots, as well as other traditional themes. Having seen it mixed and matched with Egyptian mummies, classic 7s and others, now we see it mixed with the New World. The combination of this animal and nature theme in Buffalo Toro works beautifully.

With the Grand Canyon in the background, bears, eagles, and buffaloes as symbols, and Toro dressed up as a cowboy, the film creates an immersive environment. Thanks to Elk Studios, this slot is so much more than another boring American game.

RTP and Variance of Buffalo Toro Slot

The RTP of Buffalo Toro is 94%. Compared to other online slots, it is significantly lower. There is a maximum prize of 50,000x the bet in the game, compared to x6 in the base game.

Here's how to play

Taking the bull by the horns is the theme of the Toro series. Here's how it's done!

By pressing the massive Spin button with a circular pointer, the Buffalo Toro reels are set in motion

You can adjust your bet amount by clicking on the coins icon

You can find more information about the paytable, rules, and settings by clicking the menu button

You can automate the gameplay by pressing the Auto button

You can select 10 spins, 25 spins, 50 spins, or 100 spins when playing

It is a simple, straightforward slot that does not have too many settings to confuse you.

How To Win

As we found out in our Buffalo Slot review, the game has 4,096 paylines on a matrix with 6 reels and 4 rows. Before you see the coins roll towards your balance, you’ll have to match at least three of a kind on a payline.

The only exception to this rule is the highest-paying symbol, the buffalo, which will reward you even for only 2 symbols on the payline. Buffalo payouts range from 0.5x to 6x. The lowest-paying symbols are 9s and 10s, with rewards starting at 0.10x the stake.

The betting limits for the Buffalo Toro slot are between £20 and £50 per spin.

Free Spins And Bonuses

There's so much action in this Buffalo Toro slot! You can trigger the free spins bonus games, watch the bull go for a stroll in walking wilds, or watch the matador handle respins like a pro. Each time you spin this slot, you'll be rewarded with fun features!

Bonus round with superpowers

Buffalo Toro slot's Super Bonus Round follows the same rules, but keep in mind that Rampage Reels contain only buffalo symbols. There will be a different number of Rampage Reels activated depending on the number of Golden Buffaloes:

-3 symbols - 2 reels

-6 symbols - 3 reels

-9 symbols - 4 reels

-12 symbols - 5 reels

Walking in the wilds

Toro is not afraid to walk on the wild side. Whenever you see a bull in a war bonnet, you'll notice that it spins leftward. Then you will see one spin coming your way after he leaves the board.

Respins by the Matador

There is far less fun to be had by the Matador than by his mate Toro. It will only bother you if you see only one deadly fighter because it will be completely useless. Once you see two fellows with masculine moustaches, they'll turn sticky and trigger a respin! As you try to win more Buffalo Toro slot prizes, each additional matador triggers another respin.

Matador takes a while to get going, but once it does it can bring in some prizes.

Review of the Buffalo Toro - Our Verdict

To be honest, Buffalo Toro has big shoes to fill. In the wake of its mega-sensation predecessors, we are happy to say that it has delivered. There are certain design choices that are just hilarious, and the overall atmosphere is positive. A perfect balance was achieved between the goofy approach Toro is known for and the almost supernatural atmosphere of American slots from Elk Studios.

Mathematical Model

Despite the great promise of a maximum win of 50,000x the bet, Buffalo Toro isn't for the faint of heart. Firstly, its RTP is lower than average. There will be plenty of players who find the number too low.

Second, there is a high level of volatility. There is nothing wrong with high volatility per se, but when coupled with a 94% RTP, it can create an environment as hostile as the Oregon Trail. There are plenty of features but sooner or later, you'll want to see some wins. It may seem hopeless to some casual players, and they might not find it rewarding enough.
