Considering that 1x2gaming has been around for quite some time now, it would even be a fair statement to say that they are one of the most experienced studios on the market at the moment. Historically, there have been a lot of vampire-themed slots, which is why it's no surprise that we're now getting another one in the form of Blood Rage, a slot with an old-school vibe. There is a pretty comprehensive experience to be had here, as it focuses primarily on its free spin feature, which is a pretty robust gameplay feature. In order to understand everything, we’ll go over everything a bit more below – for now, it is enough to say that 243 ways to win are available across 5 reels and 3 rows.

A vampire theme is evident from the very beginning of Blood Rage, and there are some nice symbols that are available as part of this package as well. In spite of all of that, the overall production values are hardly impressive, and you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the film itself that this is actually a 2022 release. Don't get us wrong, it's nothing bad, but it's better than what we would like to see, so we're not going to complain about it.

The mathematical model of Blood Rage is characterized by a medium-high volatility level, and the jackpot of the game is 3,100x your bet. A minimum bet that you can make is £0.20, whereas high rollers can go straight for the maximum bet of £200 per spin, which should be enough for basically everyone to be pleased with. It is unfortunate that the available RTP values of 88.09% and 95.05% are not something that will make you want to write home about.

Features of the Blood Rage slot machine

As far as pay symbols are concerned, there are 11 of them in Blood Rage. These can be divided into 6 low pays and 5 high pays, as you see below. There are a number of card ranks available for low paying hands, ranging from Nines to Aces. As for the high-paying characters, there are witches, bats, werewolves, and two vampires that you can choose from. Even two symbols of the male vampire character pay, which is nice.

Besides the pay symbols, there are also Heart Wilds and Dark Portal Scatters that can be found in this game. When Heart Wilds appear, they can substitute for other symbols to complete winning combos, but they cannot appear on reels 1 and 2.

When you land 3, 4, or 5 Dark Portal Scatters on the reels, you will trigger the Free Spins feature, which will award you with 8, 12, or 16 free spins, respectively. Activating the Dark Portal Scatter Feature with four or five Scatters on the reels will remove one or two low paying symbols from the reels, and there are a few other details involved as well. During free spins, for example, you can get stacks of Wild Heart symbols, and you can also land more than one set of Dark Portal Scatters in order to remove even more low paying symbols from the reels while receiving more free spins.

Summary of the review

All in all, Blood Rage is a pretty straightforward vampire-themed slot machine that might not be particularly inspiring, but you can have some fun playing it for a while, especially if you manage to reach the free spins feature as quickly as possible. In spite of this, the production values of the game are not fantastic, and the mathematical model also leaves something to be desired.
