Review of Betty, Boris, and Boo

You might not be able to enjoy Betty, Boris And Boo if you're looking for jump-scares and horror. This is an atmosphere that might be a bit haunted here, but it is done in a lighthearted, humorous manner. During your visit to this haunted house, you will be able to meet Boris, a food-munching green slimy ghost, as well as Boo, a golden-toothed money-hoarding ghost. The most mysterious and spooky of the three is Betty, who resides right in the middle of the group.

One of the scariest things about this game is the somewhat long-winded and featureless base game, which might be the scariest thing about it. While you do get some wild wins here and there, it's really all about the bonus round in this game. There is a good chance that your three friendly ghosts could make or break the feature, depending on how much haunted action you get. It should be noted that the math model for Red Tiger comes with some flaws, as is typical for this type of model. It should be noted though that the RTP is below the "magic" 96% mark, and that you also have to be cautious with customizable RTP ranges.

Features of Betty, Boris, and Boo

There is a wild symbol in this game, and it will act as a substitute for all regular pay symbols with the exception of the blue diamond. If it lands on all 5 of the reels, then it pays 10x your stake if it lands on at least 5 of them on a payline. There isn't much more to say as far as the base game is concerned, so let's instead focus on the bonus round instead.

If it lands on all 5 of the reels, then it pays 10x your stake if it lands on at least 5 of them on a payline. I think that's pretty much it for the base game, so let's instead take a closer look at the bonus round instead, and see what it's all about.

Regardless of which option you choose, you will receive 10 “spooky spins”, and the 3 ghosts will assist you with their individual spooky features as well. You may trigger any one of the ghost features during the bonus round at random, and you may benefit from up to all three of them at the same time during the bonus round:

1. The blue-haired lady ghost, Betty, will turn regular pay symbols into sticky wilds during the bonus round, and these wilds will remain in place for the duration of the bonus round.

2. As soon as you get boo (the golden color ghost), you will receive a random multiplier that will apply to all future wins from that moment onward. It is also possible for him to reappear later on to upgrade the multiplier up to 10x if he wants to.

3. A randomly chosen high value symbol will be expanded by Boris (the green slimy ghost) into either a 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 symbol of the same size.

Summary of the review

There is no doubt that Betty, Boris, and Boo is visually pleasing, and Red Tiger has managed to capture the atmosphere of a haunted house rather well. I think the lighthearted and humorous approach to this game won't give anyone a sleepless night, and you can safely play this game while you are alone at home. Despite this, the base game can drag on for quite some time, and there is a real lack of ghostly action in the game as well.

There is really nothing to do other than grind along and wait for the bonus round to trigger, and it's a real hit or miss type of situation. There are times when it plays out more or less like the base game, and sometimes there are times when the 3 ghosts are crawling all over each other to your benefit. Despite the fact that the 5,241x potential seems substantial, there are some drawbacks in the Red Tiger math model, as is usually the case (see the pros and cons in the following section).
