11 Coins of Fire: Slot Overview

In less than a second, you'll recognize that 11 Coins of Fire from All41 Studios is based on an earlier game from fellow Microgaming stablemate Gameburger Studios.

The game 9 Masks of Fire has inspired countless follow-ups from different developers. Even though scatter win games existed before Gameburger changed the landscape, 9 Masks marked a turning point in slot development, and it hasn't looked back since. All41 Studios has dressed up the popular format with Viking garb for 11 Coins of Fire.

The visuals in 11 Coins of Fire are quite good. Something about the reel set and prize ladder looked old before its time from the very beginning. In the background, a glowing aurora borealis glitters mystically above a misty Scandinavian settlement, bathing the scene with an eerie turquoise light that gives it an almost mystical feel.

The rumbling, experimental soundtrack, like a Nordic version of Sepultura's Roots, got the adrenaline flowing. Those noises brought to mind rituals conducted by firelight on an icy winter night to commune with the spirits of the dead.

The return to player value of 11 Coins of Fire is 96.4%, powered by a highly volatile math model. There are three other values, dropping as low as 86.7% (Germany), depending on the setting. One spin in four (27.43%) has a hit, and stakes range from 20p/c to £/€25.

On the game's 25 fixed paylines, three to five matching symbols land left to right to produce regular payouts. For five diamonds, clubs, hearts, or spades, players pocket 1 to 3.25 times their stake, and for five helms, arrowheads, or banners, they win 7.5 to 37.5 times their stake.

Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except scatters and golden coins and pay out 50x the bet for five wilds across a payline.

11 Coins of Fire: Slot Features

In 11 Coins of Fire, the goal is to land as many golden coin symbols as possible to win an instant prize. Despite being a common feature, All41 Studio has named their version Epic Strike. Despite its fancy name, Epic Strike functions the same as any other game. Golden coin symbols appear on all reels.

A winning combination of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 of them pays 1x, 5x, 15x, 40x, 100x, 500x, 2,000x, 5,000x, 10,000x the bet. Any position pays with golden coins.

Treasure Pick

There is a chance that golden coins will trigger the Treasure Pick feature whenever they land as well as the Epic Strike feature. It starts with 15 treasure chests in view, which players open one at a time.

There are two types of coins revealed in chests: golden coins and silver coins. As discussed above, revealing a silver coin ends the feature, and the number of coins in view determines the Epic Strike prize.

Free Spins

Free spins are triggered when three bonus symbols appear on reels 2, 3, and 4. In the free spins round, 30, 60, or 100 extra wild symbols are randomly added to the reels once the bonus is triggered. During the bonus round, you can win Epic Strike prizes and retrigger free spins.

11 Coins of Fire: Slot Verdict

There is a lot of overlap between 11 Coins of Fire and 9 Masks of Fire; even the names are similar. Furthermore, 11 Coins of Fire is essentially a copy of 11 Enchanting Relics, a slot All41 released a few months ago. 11 Coins of Fire is exactly the same in terms of gameplay, features, and stats as the relic-y game.

We enjoyed reviewing 11 Coins of Fire more, however. I can see why developers are attracted to the Vikings, and All41 has done a nice job with the theme.

A 9 Masks-style game with Viking stylings has been released before? It's good All41 took up the challenge since they've put their Nordic-ness to good use. Together, the visuals and sound effects outperformed 9 Masks of Fire in many ways.

From a gameplay perspective, 11 Coins of Fire is business as usual, involving battling through, hunting for golden coins to collect something from the Epic Strike prize list.

There are other things in the game that keep things interesting, such as free spins with extra wilds and the Treasure Pick. There's plenty to play for in 11 Coins, where the top prize is 10,000x - five times what the originator had to offer.

11 Coins of Fire is a clone of an already fairly unoriginal slot, but it was an improvement over 11 Enchanting Relics. 11 Coins of Fire is a good choice for any player looking for something with a bit more grunt than 9 Masks of Fire.

All wrapped up in a cosy Viking duvet, it has a larger top prize, extra wild free spins, and the Treasure Pick feature.
